Review of 2018 Wedding Trends

to have and to hold wedding stationery
As 2018 draws to and end i thought it would be fun to look back at the Wedding trends for 2018 and look forward to what is expected from 2019. The biggest wedding story for 2018 has to be the magically romantic wedding of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle. Watching this wedding gave me a warm fuzzy feeling it was like a real life fairy tale!
The beautiful simple style of Meghans gown has set the trend for some 2019 designs. Cathedral length veils also seem to be making a come back for 2019.
Rustic themed weddings remained very popular in 2018 and they thought not to be so on trend for 2019 however, I slightly disagree with this. I think the simple rustic style will remain popular due to it being un-fussy. Not all brides want frills and fancy stuff! Rustic wedding stationery remains very popular, from save the dates, to official invitations. These have been extremely popular in my store and in fact these save the dates have been my biggest seller this year.
There is a full range of matching stationery to complement this design. Designs can be altered to match wedding colour schemes.

It is expected for 2019 that strong colours will used for colour themes and stationery from rich ruby red to emerald green. The Pantone colour for 2019 is Living Coral. I’m sure this will be really popular especially for Spring and Summer brides.
Wedding hair styles have remained in 2 camps; up do or half up do. The up do seems to be split between very neat and tidy or my preferred taste, slightly disheveled.

So what can we expect for 2019 weddings?

As mentioned above look out for stronger colours. As living coral is the colour of the year for 2019 I’m sure there will be loads of this about. Look out for jewelled colours also as they are planned to make an appearance. Clean lines in wedding dresses are expected as per Meghan Markle. There should be less frills about. I think hair styles will remain pretty much unchanged, lets face it it depends how long your hair is anyway doesn’t it? The one thing you can be sure of however is that weddings will not be getting any cheaper! Happy wedding planning!
